Update: September 2019
New Guidelines from the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) have changed the way we think about conflicts of interest. Historically we have talked about actual, perceived and potential conflicts of interest; but this has been revised to centre our focus on how a personal interest may be perceived by other reasonable people.
You may notice that our policies, procedures, systems and learning still refer to actual, perceived and potential conflicts of interest. Look out for a coordinated update of all these resources in the near future. But in the meantime, if you would like to know more about the ICAC Guidelines, you can download a copy here: https://www.icac.nsw.gov.au/prevention/basic-standards/conflicts-of-interest
If you require more information on this subject, please contact the Fraud & Corruption Prevention Team at CPTeam@transport.nsw.gov.au. Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink staff should direct their inquiries to corruptionprevention@transport.nsw.gov.au.
Information Access Challenge
This module is designed to build on what you have learnt in the Records Management Challenge. The module aims to raise your awareness of your obligation to provide access to information in line with Transport for NSW policies and procedures for handling formal and informal requests for information.
Throughout this module, you will take on various job roles within a fictional Department to complete the construction of a glasshouse in a park. Your challenge is to make the right decisions in terms of information access procedures at each stage of the glasshouse development.
While the module may not directly reflect your specific business area or work, the principles of information access still apply.
The module will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. There is audio in this module.
Privacy Foundations
How information is managed throughout its lifecycle is governed by legislation. Cyber criminals try to access personal and confidential information to commit cyber crime. Misusing our customers' or employees' private and confidential information isn’t just illegal – it can also cause huge damage to our reputation as an organisation.
This course will discuss how to protect your own information and what we need to do at work to protect the private information of our customers and co-workers.
